About William Henry Walker

An English illustrator and miniaturist active in the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, Walker built a career on the kind of detailed narrative work the Victorians prized and the Edwardians refined. He moved comfortably between literary illustration, biblical subjects, and the painstaking tradition of portrait miniatures, including enamel work depicting English monarchs from Elizabeth I through George III.
